Orwell’s New York: Teach-In on the POST Act and Fighting the Surveillance State

Details

Co-hosted by RadTech, S.T.O.P., Color of Change, the National Action Network, and the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund.

Learn about the fight against New York City’s growing array of invasive, discriminatory spy tools. These new surveillance technologies invade every corner of our lives and give the NYPD disturbing new powers. From facial recognition, to DNA dragnets, to even the way we pay for a simple subway ride, presenters will explain the new ways that New Yorkers are being tracked and the grassroots fight to enact new privacy laws.

The POST Act is a way for New Yorkers to demand police transparency and accountability.
