Thames Palaces Walk

6 mile walk along Thames from Putney Bridge to Chiswick with visits to various historical places on route. From Putney Bridge we enter Fulham Palace, the historic residence of the Bishop of London. Medieval and Georgian architecture plus extensive gardens. We will then pass Craven Cottage, home of Fulham FC, and walk along the long promenade to Hammersmith riverside. Refreshment stop at one of many delightful riverside pubs (popular film location) and then onto Chiswick village (tomb of Hogarth). We detour here to explore Chiswick House, Palladian architecture and the birthplace of English landscaped gardens. Cake stop at the conservatory café before finish at Turnham Green.

Travel - Putney Bridge and Turnham Green are both on District line. Payable parking at either end.

Start - 1:00pm at tables at café opposite Putney Bridge station, Walk finishes at Turnham Green . £4 meet up fee on the day. A good knowledge of English history is required for event.
