Whether you write fiction, blogs, or just for fun, come join us! All skill levels are welcome.
We meet twice a month--once for a write-in and once to critique and workshop our work. We generally meet on Wednesday evenings in central Raleigh.
We will also be adding in various weekend write-ins for those who wish to engage and connect more or for those who can't make Wednesdays. :) And for anyone who can't necessarily meet up every week, don't worry! You're still welcome to join, come when you can, and participate in critiques online.
Monthly membership is $1.50 to cover Meetup fees and any location costs.
Join us for an evening of critiques. We'll spend most of this time discussing the projects uploaded to the group's Google Drive.
How are critiques structured?
In the five days prior to the critique session, please review the documents uploaded on the Google drive. Upload a maximum of 5,000 words for your project.
If you're new to the group, just message me (Hannah) and I'll grant you access. Leave comments and notes in the Google document or bring a printed copy for the author with your markup.
On the night of the critique, after everyone is settled in, we'll go through the group and discuss everyone's work and feedback. Discussion should be kind but constructive. :) Authors are free to ask questions to aide them in their revisions.
What should you bring?
Bring whatever writing tools you need to get your work done. Starbucks has plenty of outlets, though table space can be limited.
How can you find us?
I'll have a tote bag that says "TOTES BOOKS" on the front.
