Wild Animal Sanctuary
Hosted by Flatirons View Toastmasters Club
Details
The best thing about the Wild Animal Sancturary (http://www.wildanimalsanctuary.org/home.html) is that it's close to town and hardly anyone knows about it. For just $15 you get to hang out on a huge "pier" over the wild animals, take pictures, and enjoy the scenery. They aren't in cages -- they're just hanging out in big areas with fences around them. They have lions and tigers and bears (oh my!) along with a bunch of other animals that they've rescued. It's pretty cool!
Bring binoculars and a camera if you really want to enjoy the sanctuary to its fullest. They also have a gift shop where you can buy a souvenir and contribute to the cause. It helps if you check out their Web site (http://www.wildanimalsanctuary.org/home.html) before you go, so you can get an idea of what to expect.
After enjoying the sanctuary we'll head over to the Pepper Pod for some home cookin' if you'd like to join us. Please RSVP for that event (https://www.meetup.com/Random-Nonsense/events/42574232/) separately.
Random Contest
What's a Random Contest? Read About Us (https://www.meetup.com/Random-Nonsense/about/) for more information. The winner for this event will be the one wearing the best wildlife shirt -- and buying one when you get there doesn't count! What's the "best" in animal shirts? It's up to the group to decide, though tackiness usually wins our hearts. You know you have a wolf t-shirt in your closet somewhere.
