Dehydrating Food 101: A Half-Day Class
(Des Moines) ? Wondering what to do with the last vestiges from your summer garden? Wishing you had healthier snack options for the kids? Or do you simply want to transition to better eating, without a lot of work?
Dehydrating is a great way to preserve food for future use; and it?s an easy way to keep tasty snacks on hand. Dehydrating 101 is a demonstration class and will cover the basics of this method of food preparation and preservation. Presented by Sheree Clark, a raw vegan chef and instructor, the class will be held at Glynn Village Clubhouse, 1400 SE Waddell in Wauke, from 10:00 am. until 1:00 p.m.
The instructor will present options for making raw (and delicious!) breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack items. In addition to demonstrations and tastings participants will be learning about how to select and use a dehydrator. Also covered will be the use of other kitchen equipment such as a food processor.
