Winter Event: Build Own React Native Bridge and Learn Latest Navigation Insights

After a short holiday break, we're ready to continue rocking with a new Winter Edition Meetup.

Besides being busy with coming full-day conference, we don't want to stop pushing our community forward with less formal, evening events. Continuously rising the quality bar, we will be live streaming the event and will try hard to get more international speakers on board.

If your company could be interested in exposing it's brand and supporting local React Native community, please share our sponsorship proposal with people responsible.

Schedule

18:00 - Doors open, pizza, beer, socialization
19:00 - Introduction
19:10 - "Exploring React-Native Bridge" by Kureev Alexey
19:50 - "Navigating through navigators" by Bartol Karuza
20:30 - Beers & Talks

Exploring React-Native Bridge

React Native uses a special abstraction that bridges JavaScript calls to the native code. In this talk Alexey will share his knowledges about the way it works and how it's different from the other competitive technologies.

Navigating through navigators

There is a good selection of libraries and tools available to organize page to page navigation in React Native. But with multiple options comes the question; Which one is the best, what is the right way to navigate? Although there is no straightforward answer to this question, knowing the background of the various navigators will let you make the right decision.

Kureev Alexey @kureevalexey

Alexey is a software engineer passionate about OSS, currently a part of Publitas dream team. Last year Alexey was working on RNPM, React Native and a series of articles about "js -> native" bridge.

Bartol Karuza @bartolkaruza

Bartol has a strong background in native mobile development. He previously worked on teams making the ING mobile banking app, the Appie app of Albert Heijn and before starting his own company, the KLM airline app. Falling in love with JS and the nodeJS ecosystem, he now spends his time building React Native apps at his startups immidi.

  • Will D.

Hello, I am Will. I am traveling to Amsterdam from Taiwan.
I would like to say thank you for this event! Because as a developer and a mobile startup owner, after visiting so many churches and historical place, this was super happy for me that I can join local developer meetup before the travel end :D Even not have chance to talk too many people, but I already can feel the strong creative energy inside Dutch developers through those things you guys shared!! Thank you again~
Best wish to your coming big event!
