💻 The Talk(s)

  1. Deployment and Code Sharing @Unmind - Barns Anderson from Unmind

A couple of months into their front-end re-write using TypeScript, React Native and React, CTO Nick Tong introduces Unmind. After that one of the Unmind devs, Barns Anderson, talks about the deployment and code sharing journey they’ve had so far writing a React Native app alongside a React web app.

  1. React Native fundamentals for brownfield iOS apps - Karan Thakkar (@geekykaran) from Skyscanner

In this talk, Karan will share his learnings from working on the React Native infrastructure at Skyscanner. These are concepts and use-cases that a developer would encounter in their journey of integrating React Native in a brownfield app. Knowing these ahead of time would help folks take the right decisions when building their own React Native infrastructure.

  1. Changing technology and culture @ Qudini - David Murphy (@David_c_Murphy) from Qudini

Changing a process or a technology stack within a company is never easy and there is always a lot to consider.
Journey with us as we reflect on the last 18 months where we identified a problem and resolved to fix it outweighing the long terms benefits over short term gains.
From discovery to research and proposal all the way to completion across 3 different products. We put language and platform biases aside and choose react-native to drive our business forward and it worked.
We think we learned a lot along the way and would love to share it with you.

If you'd like to be a speaker next month, please submit your talk here -> https://reactnative.typeform.com/to/IyEjzz
