***Talks***

1. 10 Lessons Learned Building The Delivery.com App for Android

Bruno Barbieri is Lead Software Engineer in charge of Mobile development at Delivery.com. Bruno joined Delivery.com as a Senior Developer on the web team but has since moved to iOS and Android, first writing Swift but now writing React Native almost exclusively.

Jesse Sessler is also a Software Engineer on the Mobile development team at Delivery.com. Jesse got his start in Web but has since worked closely with Bruno to research and implement React Native across Delivery.com's mobile platforms.

2. "Thinking in Graphs with Relay"

Neville Samuell is CTO of Pathgather, an enterprise learning startup based here in NYC. He's going to talk about the Relay framework: what it (really) is, what problems it was designed to solve, and how you have to think differently in order to take advantage of Relay in your application.

    Hey group,

I'm sorry I missed this meetup because I was traveling, but looking forward to the next one.

In the meantime, I'm reaching out to see if there's a React Native developer in the group who has the time and would be interested in joining my side project, LivnList.

After publishing our iOS beta, we learned a lot. We've completely redesigned the app and decided to rebuild it from scratch using React Native. I've got an experienced CTO who is overseeing the efforts and one other engineer building the front end. I'm looking to accelerate the project since our iOS app will stop working in January when our backend, Parse, turns off.

We are coming down the home stretch so it wouldn't require a ton of time. It's a great chance to learn from talented CTO while expanding your portfolio of work. And when we establish product market fit, you'll be in on the ground floor with equity as we raise money. If interested in learning more, please email me [masked].

    Thanks,
    Brian

Hi all, thanks for the video and great talks! A cofounder and I are currently accepting applications for one React Native developer to join us as a cofounder on a for-profit social venture. We're seeking to combat climate change and have some very impressive intellectual firepower and institutions backing us. Please get in contact if you think you might be a good fit!

    Hello React Native NYC Members,

My company, Daylancer, connects freelancers with projects. One of the startups I'm working with is looking for a highly experienced React developer who can work with their team for 2-3 months to develop a 1) web application front end using React & Redux and 2) a mobile application in React Native & Redux.

If you are interested, please let me know at [masked]

    Thanks!
    Frank Garza
