AGENDA

For our April meetup, we've got two fantastic talks lined up from our awesome community!

Integrating TypeScript with React
Presented By: James Armstrong, Development Manager/Sr. Software Developer @ Actsoft Inc.

Type safety used to be a dirty word in the JavaScript world but tools like typescript and flow have demonstrated the use case and strong need for tools like this in the ecosystem. Type safety helps remove a whole class of common errors from your source code. It also allows you tooling to be a lot smarter and help the developer experience. This talk will go into how to get a React project up and running with typescript and a few of the syntactic goodies typescript provides to help you to develop in React or any JavaScript based project.

React Experience with GoLang
Presented By: David Renne, Software Engineer @ Altona

Discuss the findings and experiences after working with react heavily over an 8 month period and outline various gotchas such as simple and easy ways to enable performance improvements, state management, parent/children component communication and highlighting code in some components we wrote. Also discuss why golang rules them all if people are interested.
