As more React codebases are using hooks, it's important for developers to be aware of how reference equality differs in class-based and functional components. This talk on the core hooks which either provide or depend on reference equality offers a new perspective on the appropriate uses of useRef, useMemo and useCallback in conjunction with useEffect.
