After the success of our various South west Technology Meetups, we are really excited to expand the group to Thames Valley and can't wait to network with you in Reading!
This group is for anyone living or working in or around Reading and Berkshire area who would be interested in talks and events around .NET development. If you're a developer or a company in the local area then it would be great to see you at one of our events.
This group will hopefully provide a platform for the developer community to exchange ideas and keep up to date with the latest movements and shifts in software development. The plan is to hold the meetups every other month - with 2 speakers on the roster. As we build momentum and more attendees in the upcoming events, we are likely to do stuff like pub meets, lightning talks etc.
So, if you enjoy technology and would like to socialise with fellow developers, then please come along to one of our events. I look forward to see you there! Deepak
We are delighted to announce that our first meetup will be held and hosted by Altitude Angel at their Reading offices on Wednesday 27th Feb.
It's going to be a great night - pizza and drinks will be provided and we will have 2 talks.
Arrival at 6:30pm
6:30pm-7:00pm - networking and refreshments -
Talk #1 - 7pm start
Our first speaker will be Jon Skeet. Jon is an famous author, community leader and currently a software engineer working at Google.
The talk will be on C# 8.0 as it's nearly here! The Visual Studio 2019 preview is already available, so if you haven't looked into what's coming in C# 8, now is the perfect time to do so. The most important feature of C# 8 is undoubtedly nullable reference types, but there's plenty more to look forward to as well.
While this talk will be as easy to understand but there'll be a huge amount to cover for the evening so expect it to be a fast pace, with lots of code.
Talk #2 8:15pm-9pm
Our second talk will be presented by Neil Kidd, Rupert Benbrook, Alexander Dunn and the Altitude Angel team who’ll be talking about how they use .NET, Azure and DevOps to build their highly scalable services, and how they ensure their quality.
Altitude Angel build services that enable drones to access and navigate our skies safely with other aircraft, that will usher in the future of fully automated aviation.
Massive thanks to Altitude Angel for hosting, and to Jon Skeet and Altitude Angel Team for leading the discussions.
We look forward to seeing you all there!!
