What we’re about

Hello, we welcome anyone who would like to make new friends or just wants to increase their circle of friends as you can never have too many! The Meet Ups range from drinks, walks, picnics, days out, cinema to badminton to name a few, or feel free to make some suggestions, we are open to ideas!
We are a group of friends who met socialising and feel the personal touch is important, welcoming and introducing you to other members to ensure you enjoy the experience. We are getting our creative juices flowing and look forward to meeting all members personally!

RULES - Please read (amended 11th October 2023)
To ensure we keep this a happy group, with respect for all we have put in place a few rules, so please take a minute to read.

Please take just 2 minutes of your time to read the below, to keep this a happy group that you all know and love!  We couldn't run this group without you all! :-) If rules are not followed below however, we will have to think about charging for each event, this is not something we want to do!! We will also start trialing a new rsvp system on some events that will only allow you to book on with a week or so before the event date.

1. 'No Show' strikes - If you are a ‘no show’ for an event that you RSVP'd yes to and do not show up or leave a comment.  You will be removed from the group.  We have a strict 'One strike and you are out' policy!  - reasoning is because we have waitlists and you stopped someone from attending in your place and the host is waiting for your arrival and constantly checking the app for messages.

2. Last minute book offs - these are becoming more of an occurrence.  With many booking off with an hour or two to go before the event starts. We understand that occasionally there are circumstances that you may have to change to a no. Please where possible change your rsvp with 24 hours prior to the event starting. This allows your 'potential new friends' to attend. We put reminders on the events message board a day or two prior as a reminder that you are due to attend the event. Please turn your notifications on for Reading Out & About to receive these updates.  We shall start removing people from the group that we notice between the hosts as members who have on last 3 events booked off within a few hours of the event starting.

3. If you are 'Waitlisted' for an event due to it being fully booked, then you will automatically be moved up to the 'Attending' list if someone was to cancel their place. This can happen right up to when the event is due to start. Therefore, if you make other plans and know you are on the waitlist, please update your rsvp to 'not going' so that you are not automatically moved to going. This will then leave those on the 'waitlist' that can make it and therefore you will not be holding a spare seat unnecessarily and will enable 'a potential friend'  to attend the event.

4. Finally, we would ask that you use your first name and also a close up photo not one with you a million miles from the camera or of your pet. This just means we know who to look out for when hosting a Meet Up Event and other members can put names to faces more easily.

Thank you for your understanding, right time to have fun!

See you soon

Adele, Donna, Filomena (Fil) and Lins. (The Hosts)
