7:15 - Talk 1: Platform and test - match made in Heaven?
Gabor Gerencser is a technical tester at BJSS with more than
a decade assurance experience working for from small to large, international organizations.

He will give you an introduction to platform and platform testing.
Why platform is important for testers and why platform engineers need our support.

He will share a couple of examples where platform testing helped to save the day and the lack of it caused problems.

Two solutions for platform testing will be discussed: a simple bash based, and an enhanced solution based on Kitchen Terraform.

8:15 - Talk 2: Cloud – Automated Platform Assurance

Bradley Atkins is a Software Developer in Test (SDET) who specialises in automation and tooling.

In his current role he has been responsible for forking, refactoring and integrating open source security scanning tools into the Jenkins Pipeline.

He will introduce the Cloud Security Suite open source AWS configuration scanning tools and show how to leverage them to assure that thousands of configurable items are configured correctly and securely. Also showing how they raised over 80 risks and issues on a project that was getting a green light from its IT Health Check (ITHC) at the time.

He will cover the Pros and the Cons of the tools available and discuss generic approaches for assuring platform integrity.
