What we're about

A group for women to discuss feminist literature. We also go to some of the many feminist events taking place in London - talks, festivals, film screenings. We occasionally organise socials & drinks to allow like-minded women to hang out together.

Our group philosophy is to be as welcoming and as friendly as possible.

The book that launched this group is "Reading Women: How the Great Books of Feminism Changed My Life" by Stephanie Staal. In this she invites us to re-read (or read for the very first time) the classics of feminist literature.

Other books we have read include: Simone de Beauvoir's The Second Sex; Betty Friedan's The Feminine Mystique; Kate Millett's Sexual Politics; Roxanne Gay's Bad Feminist, Sheryl Sandberg's Lean In and Laurie Penny's Unspeakable Things, to name just a few. While we have real debates over the books, the environment of this group is intended as friendly, tolerant and informal. All feminist approaches are welcomed. If you are interested in suggesting a book or promoting an event, don't hesitate to email me.
