A new kind of book group where you don't have to read someone else's choice of book ahead of time! Just bring along a book you've enjoyed reading and tell us about it, and listen to others sharing their enthusiasms and recommendations. Good company, interesting discussions, maybe hear about your next great read - and all for free.
This group meets monthly, alternating between two different venues in Totnes. One month it will be at Totnes Library on a Thursday afternoon. The next month it will be at the Bay Horse pub (upstairs) on a Tuesday evening - so if you can't make one time, perhaps you can make the other.
Come to the Bay Horse pub in Totnes, to the back bar, and ask to go up to the Recent Reads group in the room upstairs. Sometimes there's another reading group meeting downstairs so don't be misled! Buy yourself something to drink and I'll provide the cake. We usually start with a general reading-related question, such as 'What book do you think everyone should read?' or "What's your favourite start to a book?" Then we each in turn talk about a book we've recently enjoyed reading - fiction or non-fiction - and listen to others talking about theirs. Bring yours along to show us. Maybe you'll read us an extract to give us a flavour of it.
Hope to see you there.
