Raise the Wage/Stop the Opt-out!

Reclaim Chicago and The People's Lobby worked for 2 years with the Cook County Board to raise the minimum wage, and it was passed in 2016! In addition, a law to allow paid sick leave of 48 hours for workers was passed. However, suburbs are opting out of these new laws, when employees are working full time and yet living in poverty.
