Do you like to write? Do you self-identify as being in recovery of any sort (from alcohol, substances, gambling, eating disorder, sex/love addiction, depression, bipolar, codependency, etc)? Our Writers in Recovery Meeting is an engaging, safe place for people to enhance their recoveries via creative writing and fellowship. In the meeting we’ll check in, read a prompt, write on it, share what we’ve written, and connect with our peers.
This is not an AA meeting or belonging to a twelve-step fellowship; however all are welcome who are interested in exploring the intersection of creative writing and recovery lifestyle. The groups are intended to be encouraging and supportive, using writing as a vehicle for self-reflection, self-expression, and human connection.
The group is completely free of cost and meets every Monday (starting 1/7/2019) from 7-8:30PM at Right Turn (440 Arsenal St in Watertown.) Enter through the main entrance on the side of the building (it says 440 Arsenal above door). Go up the stairs, through the door and we meet in the Elvis Room (the door is labeled). Bring a journal and a writing utensil. Feel free to bring any writing prompts as well!
RSVPing to this post is not necessary in order to attend, just show up! If you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to message the group organizer Molly. Look forward to seeing you there!
