Arduino/Microcontroller Night!!!

  • Jun 4, 2013 · 6:30 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

This is our new repeating project series for the first Tuesday of every month:

Have you every wanted to give your scarecrow a brain? What about your robot?

At this meeting we will be working on microcontroller projects and if you have a project that uses one our team of almost experts will be there to help you on your way. Any platform is welcome but the easiest to get started with is Arduino. Arduino is designed with non technical people in mind, so anyone can use it! Visit for more information about this wonderful controller.

As always the meeting is free to attend and participate in, but if you would like to be a full member please bring cash or check to pay your monthly dues.

Meeting is BYOB and refreshments/snacks are more than welcome.

    Hi Everyone,

We went over arduino basics again during last meeting, but it turns out everyone there was already past that point. So instead of presenting basics again to everyone people can get started right away on their own projects.

If you need help with your project or if a few people want to go over a particular arduino tutorial or group of tutorials we can do that separately ( Maybe everyone will just want to work on existing projects.

Reply and let us know what you're interested in for microcontroller night: a project (if your own, tell us about it), a particular tutorial, a group of tutorials / concept, etc. Maybe even a completely different microcontroller other than arduino.

Does it have to be a ball valve? Also does it have to be 3/8" or would 1/4" work? Solenoid valve is going to be much easier to control with any microcontroller. Here is a well rated 1/4" solenoid valve at a good price on

Realized you're probably planning on using this for beer, and I don't know if that's a food safe valve. Although solenoid is definitely the way to go for automated valve control.

They got motor shields on sale at radio shack for 10 bucks, in case anyone's interested.

This will be the last meetup at DisCo until later on in the summer or early fall. We will be changing the pages accordingly.
