Basic PCB Design

Details
Continuing from our Arduino Basics meetup we will be demonstrating how to design schematics and PCBs (printed circuit boards) using Cadsoft's EagleCAD software. The design will be a simple one so even if you have no CAD experience you will be able to follow along.
This is an introduction to PCB design. Therefore it is perfect for anyone with no experience using PCB CAD software. No previous knowledge is required. Additionally we will give a tutorial on reading electronic schematics.
We will be using Egle as it is the industry standard for creating boards, but we will also discuss the open source design programs Fritzing and KiCAD.
Bring a laptop if you have one. You can download the free version of Eagle from cadsoft's website http://www.cadsoftusa.com/. Also download the Eagle libraries from Adafruit and Sparkfun located here https://github.com/adafruit/Adafruit-Eagle-Library and here https://github.com/sparkfun/SparkFun-Eagle-Libraries .
Fritzing http://fritzing.org/
KiCAD http://kicad-pcb.org
Bring a schematic you want to turn into a printed board. Simple is better for your first, but anything is fine.
As always the meeting is free to attend and participate in, but if you would like to be a full member please bring cash or check to pay your monthly dues.
Meeting is BYOB and refreshments/snacks are more than welcome.
