Speakers:
Asad Faizi is the founder and CEO of CloudPlex, Inc.; a Cloud Native application platform for designing, deploying, debugging, and managing Microservices Mesh.
Brendan Burns is a Distinguished Engineer at Microsoft. He is responsible for DevOps & Containers on Azure. Prior to Microsoft, he was Lead engineer on Kubernetes at Google.
Lee Briggs is the Senior Infrastructure Engineer at Apptio, where he is responsible for design of service delivery platform and orchestration platform.
Abstracts:
- This talk will cover experience and thoughts about how to approach the monitoring and management of cloud-native systems. It will draw both from observations of the opportunities provided by systems like Kubernetes as well as from practical hands-on experience from building real monitoring systems. With luck it will provide both experiences from the past, and inspirations for the future.
** The abstraction layer for Configuration Management is moving away from the operating system to the orchestration layer, but the configuration management tools aren’t keeping up. As the number of Kubernetes clusters you run grows, your ability to install components on them with slight and subtle differences becomes more and more manual. This talk will go over the inspiration behind kr8, as well as show a practical demo and example of deploying the components you choose to multiple clusters with the modifications needed in a few lines of code.
+++ Thank you Microsoft for sponsoring the event.
