What we're about
Welcome ROSE (Reiki Outreach Services for Elders).
Celebrating the healing power of Reiki and the use of Reiki to assist our elders. This group is about reaching beyond ourselves to provide Reiki services to the beloved elders in our communities -- whether at home, at Senior Centers, in adult day-care facilities, in independent living facilities, or in assisted living facilities, or in nursing homes. Elders deserve our love and respect because of the life they've given us and the journeys they've been through in their own lives. Elders can see the spirit and soul of younger people and are not threatened by systems of thinking that are new or different. An elder sees both ahead and back, seeing beyond them to what is really at life’s core: love, joy, community, and peace. Elders have a lifetime of wisdom to share with us, and we have the wonderful healing power of Reiki to share with them.
This group is about sharing Reiki with each other and with the Elders in our lives and in our communities.
This group is for Reiki practitioners and for anyone interested in helping bring Reiki into the Elder community. ROSE (Reiki Outreach Services for Elders, Inc.) is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Corporation. However, we are just getting started as an organization. ROSE has an Executive Director who has been helping truly get ROSE off the ground. Up to now ROSE has really just been an idea, but it is very soon going to be a reality. In order to help fulfill this reality, we need you for your help. In order to bring ROSE to fruition, we need volunteers of many different types. Would you please take a moment to read the list below and look within your heart to see if there may a fit where you can volunteer to help with making ROSE the reality that it is about to become? These are the types of volunteers we need: - Board Members who are health care professionals, long-term care facility Administrators or Activity Directors, professional elder advocates, employees of elder-serving organizations such as AARP, NARFE, Alzheimer’s Association, Alzheimer’s Foundation, Family Caregiver Alliance, National Alliance for Caregiving, National Council on the Aging, etc., and employees of local, State, or Federal government agencies that help serve the elderly. The role of Board Members include governance of the organization and fundraising efforts. Board Members are also ambassadors for the organization. - Reiki practitioners (Level 2 or higher) willing to bring Reiki (along with any other compatible energy healing practices) into Elder communities such as Assisted Living Facilities. You would have the option to volunteer your time as often as once a week or once a month or as infrequently as once a year. Although you would be providing Reiki initially as a volunteer, you are encouraged to bring your personal business card and/or brochure and give it out to your Reiki recipients, who are then free to contact you for private Reiki sessions, which would be set up directly between you and the client and for which you could of course charge your normal fees. - Organizational volunteers to physically go out to Assisted Living Facilities, explain the mission of ROSE to the Activities Director at the facility, and try to sign up these facilities as members of ROSE, at which point ROSE will start having “Reiki Days” at that facility, once a month, where ROSE volunteers will come to the facility to provide free Reiki healing to the residents of the facility. Thank you very much for your time and consideration, and thank you for being Members of Reiki-For-Your-Soul!
