Reinventing Work: Melbourne meets on the first Tuesday of the month to explore, share, learn and practice new ways of working; ways of working that put humans front and centre of organisational life. Our purpose (written in pencil) is to make Melbourne a better place to work.
We will explore the meaning of self-management, wholeness and purpose in the workplace. We’ll aim to make Melbourne a better place to work by learning to understand and experience the practices being used by evolving organisations who have moved away from traditional, hierarchical ways of working.
• In keeping with the ethos of collaboration, as hosts we aim to walk the “chaordic" path between building a frame and inviting everyone to co-create the content and the agenda.
Reinventing Work: Melbourne is for anyone interested in the future of work, self-organising teams, self-management, deliberately developmental workplace practices, wholeness at work, emergent hierarchies, participatory change, decentralised leadership, distributed authority, collaboration, new ways of working and organisation design.
If you’ve heard of 'Brave New Work' by Aaron Dignan, Frederic Laloux’s book ‘Reinventing Organisations’, the Corporate Rebels blog, or the Leadermorphosis podcast, then this is definitely for you! If you haven’t, here are some links:
Have a read/listen/browse and if the ideas sound amazing then you’ll fit right in. If you are just beginning to learn, or you already work in transformative ways, or you are somewhere in between, this group is for you. The group is inclusive of all interest and experience, to grow however we can, the number of organisations and people experiencing more purpose, autonomy and wholeness at work.
This third session of Reinventing Work Melbourne will round out the foundations of the group's connection, structure and process, aiming to create a clear container and direction for the group and how it operates.
