Feldenkrais will reconnect your brain & body; email renofeldenkrais@gmail.com

Awareness Through Movement is a fascinating and quiet journey into physical and mental self-awareness that can be life changing.  The movements are done slowly, with focused attention, activate the proprioceptors in your joints and the neural pathways throughout your body.  You will begin to rediscover movement in a way that echoes your experience as a child. Please contact me via email at [masked] to join this meetup and get the information you need to participate. I look forward to hearing from you and working together with you as we study self-awareness via mindful movement.

Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais [masked]) was a nuclear physicist, a civil engineer, a martial arts specialist and a brilliant thinker.  He developed this method to recover from his own inoperable injuries and restore the use of his body; he spent the end of his life training others to teach it. Dr. Feldenkrais was considered by many to be the grandfather of neuroplasticity long before technology existed to verify the changes in the brains he witnessed in his students. We now known that working mindfully with focused attention for periods of 30 mins or more is a powerful restorative tool, physically, cognitively and spiritually.  If these things are interesting to you, you will be in the right place.

Be sure to contact Carole at [masked] to confirm and get the information you need before class, and if you are a new student, to schedule a 15 min phone call or meeting with me before your first class.  Wear comfortable layers, bring a blanket, small towel & show up 15 min before class begins. Class will also be attended by non-meetup members.
