Real estate investors are always told to "do your due diligence" before buying a property, but no one ever tells them how to do their due diligence.
In the July meeting, Joe Torre will walk through key elements of the due diligence process, including:
- How to choose a market, especially a market far from home
- How to tell if you're buying in a good neighborhood when you can't fly out there to check personally (COVID-19)
- How to "sanity check" the seller's pro forma financial projections to see if they're realistic

About Joe:
Joe Torre is an investment counselor for a national real estate investing firm and the author of "Real Estate Due Diligence: The Investor's Guide to Avoiding Costly Mistakes".
As an investment counselor, he advises clients on how to build portfolios of single-family homes to achieve financial goals like retirement and diversification from the stock market. His background includes almost 20 years of experience as a real estate investor and educator.
Joe holds an MBA in Finance from Columbia University Business School and formerly served as an officer in the US Marine Corps. He is not related to the former manager of the New York Yankees.
