Managing a Data Science Team panel discussion

Details
Join Melinda Thielbar, Katherine King, Julia Kuznetsova and Melissa Nysewander for an enlightening panel discussion on how to manage a data science team.
Most people think a data scientist does all of the feature engineering, modeling, and productionalization her/himself, but large projects involve a lot of steps, and no one can do all of them alone. More and more, data science projects are about team work. We'll talk about organizing a data science team, including breaking the project down into manageable chunks, hiring the right people for each role, and ensuring a quality model gets shipped in a timely manner. We will also discuss ways to organize access to data, tools to store data dictionaries and share code, as well as best practices around model deployment and integration testing. Along the way, we'll talk about upskilling team members and communicating with stakeholders.
We're at a new location this month, Durty Bull Brewing, sponsored by Work Unbound (https://workunbound.com/).
Doors open at 6:30. Talk begins at 7:00.
