Using the Research Skills Framework
Details
Join us for our first virtual meetup where Tomomi and Dave will introduce the research skills framework.
This framework aims to encapsulate the breadth of skills you need to run research projects, and tools built on that framework to chart out your skills. The Research Skills Framework was built on a ReOps community project and also includes data from 2 workshops hosted in Berlin in 2019. https://researchskills.net
Dave is a researcher and designer who is always curious about how people work together, and how we shape information to make it tractable and useful. Dave is the research manager at ResearchGate, based in Berlin, Germany. Please find him on twitter @stonecrops_, especially if you are a pattern language enthusiast.
Tomomi is a designer and partner at the Tokyo/Paris based design studio AQ. She is co-founder of Design Research Tokyo and on the board of the ResearchOps Community. Twitter @tomomiq.
This meetup will be a short presentation about the Research Skills Framework as well as a breakout activity where you will build your own map. We'll teach you about the most important and immediately useful parts of the framework, to give you a new way to think about your own skills and growth as a person doing research.
This weekend we will send out a short introduction pre-read / activity that should take about 20-30 minutes.
