Without hyperbole, deportation could be a death sentence for a good man.

On Thursday night, the Ann Arbor City Council will consider a resolution to join the effort to stop the deportation of Ann Arbor resident Kamiran Taymour and the other Iraqi Christians arrested by ICE in raids on June 11th.

Kam has three children in the Ann Arbor Public Schools and graduated from Ypsilanti Community High School. He spent his youth in Iraq before his family fled Saddam Hussein’s persecution.

Kam’s deportation to Iraq would result in a high likelihood of violent attack because not only is he a Christian, Kam is a Kurd, an American, and two of his sisters translated for the US military.
