5 Boro Bike Tour with Water For People!!

What are your plans for Cinco de Mayo? How about a bike ride, followed by burritos, tequila, cerveza? All to support an outstanding international water and sanitation nonprofit called Water For People? An NYC-based RPCV is is currently organizing a 20 person team to ride in this year's TD Bank Five Boro Bike Tour. The goal is to raise $20,000 for WFP's paradigm-shifting programs in 11 countries in Africa, Asia, Central America, and South America.

Before you say "Stop bugging me about this.", I'd like for you to watch their "Year in Review 2012".

Now you can say it if you'd like.

The Five Boro Bike Tour is about 40 miles of smooth riding through Manhattan, the Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn and Staten Island. The streets, bridges and highways belong to 32,000 cyclists for the day (some fun facts). It's not a race at all, so no stress. 40 miles is worth training a little for, but we take our time and a few 10 mile rides in the spring will get you plenty ready. Open registration has closed, so these charity spots are hot commodities. The charity registration also gets you early start ahead of the crowd, breakfast at the start and lunch at the end.

All WFP riders will have a $1,000 fundraising target and an honest and visible fundraising effort using Crowdrise is required. The registration will run you $150 (t-shirt included).

If you are interested or would like any more info, please let Tim ([address removed]) know ASAP! 10 spots are available as of right now, but a boy scout troop from New Jersey may move in on those in the blink of an eye.
