What we’re about

This group meets every other Monday at 7PM at Au Coquelet (located at University Ave at Milvia in Berkeley) for brainstorming and grousing over modeling and production conundrums we have had or are encountering with this fantastic platform (Rhinoceros 3D, Grasshopper, etc) in the course of our professional practice or intern-level activities.

This is a chance to sort into cadres of similarly skilled users whose aim is to become a great resource for the kinds of ideas it takes to surmount problems in the face of school or work deadlines- while the online help and forums are great, nothing is as helpful as real people who we can actually show our intractable problems to. Sharing success or inspiration in person to your local peers is always a good way to wrap up a project as well.

David is a designer using Rhino on a daily basis for the design and fabrication of public art and architectural details, including output to render, FDM, Z-Corp and SLA printing, K-40 and industrial laser, water jet, and various other non-CAM job shop operations as well as extensive metalcasting experience, and received his Level 1&2 instructors training from McNeel, Inc at their facility in Seattle, WA. YOU are an eclectic group of designers, engineers, students and DIYers who's spark is enabled at least in part by Rhino!

Just show up at our Meetups 7:00 every other Monday (check the Meetup calendar to be most current) with your latest problem, conundrum or great technique in Rhino, Grasshopper, Flamingo or any other related plug-ins, and we will have a chance to swap experiences and inspirations.

Experienced students, fabricators and all professionals are welcome. Ultimately, I'd like to get a group together who can have an active bulletin board or swap emails so we can have an additional source of problem solving ideas when we have a tough problem right before deadline, and the regular Rhino online help forum is just not coming through in time.

So please, whether new to Rhino or an old hand, let me and other potential attendees know your of interest, sign up and stop by (just peer around for the laptops w/ Rhino up)! While reservations are not required, if no one has indicated that they will be attending then there will be a chance that I will not be there; however if there is even one member who RSVP's I'll be sure to be there.

Hope to see you there!

Your Organizer,

- - David Naisuler
