What we're about

Have you ever yearned to be a RHoK star but never thought you’d get the chance? Are you a coder, designer, analyst, marketing/media guru, innovator, UX ninja, project manager or other techie who wants to get your hands dirty building something cool that will help the community? Then join us for the Brisbane RHoK Winter 2018 hackathon. This is your chance to utilise your technology skills, make connections, learn something new and help others over one fun and fast weekend, with the goal of creating a tangible solution to a real world social problem impacting our community.

Random Hacks of Kindness (RHoK) is a global event, centered on using technology to make the world a better place by building a community of innovation. RHoK encompasses a community of over 5,500 innovators in over 30 countries making the world a better place. More info about RHoK can be found at

Meet the Change Makers we are going to help, whilst getting to know your fellow hackers. Find out a little about the problems we are trying to solve and the technology we plan to use. Whet your appetite for the main event over a few drinks and snacks.

* Hackathon – Saturday & Sunday 28th-29th July (UQ IDEA Hub)

Over one fun filled, action packed, caffeine and sugar fueled weekend you get the chance to use your technical, business and creative skills to make a real difference helping our Change Makers. You bring your enthusiasm, laptop and know how, and we’ll supply the fuel and drinks to keep you powering through the weekend hack.
