Token offerings are no longer restricted to financing purposes. There is a strong push towards using it as part of the business model, often combined with though financing aspects. However, there are numerous regulatory, tax and legal structuring issues to be taken into account. Globally, we see the development of a few Blockchain hubs, and Germany and Israel play a predominant role. Intensified collaboration between the two countries will allow to play a major role globally, especially since the US is a less benign environment for token related business concepts.
The dwf team that has advised in more than 30 Blockchain/ ICO projects in 2018 alone will be touching on the following key regulatory issues for token offerings (ICOs) in Europe and Israel:
-
Regulatory questions related to the jurisdictions of the issuer and the target jurisdictions for the offering
-
Token structuring and governance, smart contracts
-
KYC and Anti-Money Laundering Requirements
-
Tax issues
-
IP rights
-
Data protection
We are looking forward to seeing you!
