What we're about

If you are passionate about photography, enjoy meeting new folks, and prefer learning new techniques in the field ... then we are the Meetup for you!

Road Runner Photography Tours and Wanderlust Travel are joining forces to provide our Meetup members with awesome photography opportunities!

Samantha and Jason, from Wanderlust Travel, will keep you busy in the tradition you have come to love and trust! These two love all things photography and are gifted portrait photographers, so you will see more options to explore portraiture, model, and stuff like cosplay events if learning new things interests you!

Our Meetups are for photographers of all skill levels and are looking to experience new places, build friendships, find photo-companions, and develop technique.

The Mid-Atlantic region is rich with photo opportunities and we would like to share our love of photography with people who want to get out and shoot. We will be scheduling a number of half and full day events in the Virginia, DC and Maryland area. Join RRPT/WL Meetup to receive information on our upcoming Meetups!

Road Runner Photography Tours also offers guided photography adventures for intermediate to advanced level photographers who wish to spend time in the field learning rather than in a classroom. Although our tours are geared to individuals who are comfortable using their camera gear, we by no means are excluding beginners! We are happy to assist you and help you learn new techniques for capturing amazing images… let’s just focus on being in the field when doing it!! We created Road Runner Photography Tours to provide an alternative for photographers that prefer to focus on fieldwork. We believe that learning through practice, with camera in hand is the best way to develop skills.

Beautiful Blooms/Still Life Photography

44330 Mercure Cir

$95.00

Inspiration comes in many forms. Still life paintings are just one of the lasting art forms that inspire us to learn, stretch our imaginations and create something unique. Artists have been capturing still life scenes since the Renaissance. In the 1600s, Dutch and Flemish artists created timeless images of flowers, tables clad with drooping table cloths and pitchers of cold water, wine bottles, fruit and even musical instruments to tell a story.

Create a beautiful fresh floral arrangement to use in this workshop. Use simple set ups, props such as fruits, wine and other Dutch inspired items as part of our still life photography creation. Learn a basic still life layout, use of lighting and capturing style using your own DSLR camera or cell phone camera! Take home your floral creation, as well as photos and new knowledge to create your own piece of art! Enjoy wine and other refreshments as we work.

What To Expect
The flower arranging will be the first hour of this workshop. Working with flowers can be messy, so make sure to wear something you won’t mind getting a little dirty.

What Should I Bring?
For the flower arrangement, you don’t need to bring anything out of the ordinary with you - we provide the flowers, vases, and tools you will need to create your arrangement.
For the Photo session bring your DSLR or cell phone! We will provide props, backdrops, lighting and some inspiration!
