KPI = Key Performance Indicator
Phobia = Irrational fear

Key Performance Indicators (KPI) are a classic tool of software project management but they might raise some hairs in your spine. Apprehensions on KPIs might not be uncalled for. They are hard to do even adequately and they can be dangerous.

It is said that if you can not measure everything, it is better to measure nothing. This wisdom is often misinterpreted leading to situation where nothing is measured. Even though the data collected would be incomplete, it can be immensely valuable to the entire organization.

I am finishing my master's thesis on Continuous Integration and Test Automation metrics and I would like to share some things I learned while researching this topic.

Robot Framework is going to RPA with just released first RPA version.
Robotic Process Automation is nowadays a standardized work model for automating information work. There has not been any viable alternative in the markets for costly licensed solutions... until now.

Robot Framework is bringing a open source option to this market by releasing a possibility to use the tool for Robotic Process Automation also. First steps are now taken and aim is to develop this feature even more.
