Our mission is to create a community in Rochester for technologists and aspiring technologists alike to connect and learn from each other.
We are focused on all aspects of software programming, ranging from the traditional web-based stacks to understanding ARM assembly. We also explore how working in the software industry impacts our health. To that end, we have had presentations that range from the history of virtual reality, to the best way to stay healthy when working a sedentary job.
We're always looking for presenters, so please let us know. We try to have two short (15-30 min) presentations, followed by time for questions, then a post-meetup at one of downtown Rochester's restaurants. Don't want to present for 20 minutes, or have never presented before? Come do a lightning talk- we can even help you prepare!
Our group is dedicated to providing a harassment-free learning experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof), or technology choices. Learn more about our values by reading our code of conduct (http://rochesterfullstack.org/code-of-conduct/).
** ONLINE EVENT https://www.twitch.tv/rochesterfullstack **
We're back! Our hiatus has made us miss not only the meet-ups, but our
post-meet-up discussions-- so we're taking that concept online via Twitch. The co-organizers will be gathering virtually to share stories, opinions, and maybe even wisdom on some-things tech. We'll want to hear your thoughts too via the Twitch chat channel.
1. Building Solutions: The triumph of "good enough"
2. The Future of Remote Work: How has the pandemic changed companies' view of remote work
3. Bug Tracking: The worst bug you've ever tracked
We haven't done a meet-up like this before, but if all goes well, we're hoping to invite other community members into future discussions!
