Summer Score-O and White Course at Powder Mills Park
It's the season for the summer Score-O orienteering events, and this summer we are holding a series of Score-O's. Unlike a classic orienteering event, in the Score-O format you decide which controls you want to visit and in what order. Each control is worth a certain number of points. The catch is that you have to be back within a strict time limit or you will lose points. Stay tuned for more details. The course setter will determine whether this Score will be a mass start (everyone starting at the same time), the duration of the event (60 minutes or 90 minutes), and the point values. A classic White course for beginners will also be offered. Register now at roc.us.orienteering.org.

    What we're about

Orienteering involves navigating a course generally in a park setting using a map and compass to find a series of markers called controls. It's the perfect "thinking sport" for people of all ages, families, nature lovers and serious athletes alike. ROC sponsors about twenty meets at local parks each year.
