Big Bright Light Show - Night Photography Workshop 6-9 PM (12/15/2013)

Details
This workshop is expected to run from 6-9 PM For several years now Downtown Rochester has draped itself in an amazing light show. Thousands of people come every night during the Christmas season to see and photograph the show. This workshop is dedicated to teaching you how to take properly exposed night images. We will start in the classroom and discuss proper camera settings and technique for capturing beautiful images after dark. Minimal Equipment Requirements: You will need a SLR, sturdy tripod, a remote release (or self-timer built into the camera), and a flashlight or headlamp. It will be very helpful if you bring along the manual for your camera so I can help you get it configured properly for the best night exposures. Additional Recommended Equipment: An external dedicated flash. As many of your lenses as you own, or can comfortably carry. Just like photographing during the day, a variety of lenses will afford you the ability to compose a mixture of different looks. Clothing Recommendations: It will be cold and dark. I strongly recommend a hat, gloves (fingerless if you have them), wear multiple layers so you have the ability to adjust with the weather.
There will be an optional no-charge image review/critique session in January 2014. This will be an opportunity to share some of your favorite images from the Big Bright Light Show or the rest of the year.
They have already begun hanging the lights on the buildings! Class size is restricted due to the size of the Chamber of Commerce conference room.
