Shooting Tethered to your laptop

Details

Shooting Tethered is the process of connecting your camera to your laptop or other monitor (with appropriate software) that allows you to see your images immediately after you take them. Nice and large on screen.

This is how I shoot all my Studio Headshots, Product Photography, Event Portraits, etc.

In this workshop I will have the studio setup with lights and backdrop, then as a group we will assemble the necessary tools for tethered shooting, and play.

You are encouraged to try it with your own camera, you will need to bring a USB cable that will attach to your camera. Your camera most likely came with one when you bought it, so hopefully you can find it. I have a few different types of cords in my collection, but I can't guarantee they I will have one that matches your camera. You do not have to have your own laptop, but you welcome to bring your one if you have one with a working copy of Lightroom or Capture One.

I will demonstrate shooting connected to Adobe Lightroom Classic CC and if people are interested we can also tether into Capture One 12, and Tether Tools proprietary software using their "Case Air" wireless product. I had great hopes for Case Air, however I don't use the Case Air much because it is MUCH slower that using an actual USB Cable.
