MEET AT THE WINTER COVE turn out. (Bear to the left at the entrance of the park.) Bob's cell is 248-941-4859.

Stony Creek Metro Park hosts it's annual fireworks show on Sunday, June 30th. The fireworks go off at 10 pm. We have the group gathering for training at 8 pm.

Last year the weather was not cooperating, however challenging weather almost always leads to unique images. We didn't get what we initially expected, but it was an opportunity to create fireworks images like none I've ever seen before or since.

Fireworks are shot for several seconds resulting in images that show more than we see with our eyes.

This workshop is intended to teach you how to capture the magic of fireworks! Bob will be providing hands-on instruction before and during the fireworks display. There will also be a checklist that you can keep in your camera bag for future opportunities. We picked the Stony Creek Fireworks so you should have opportunity to practice a few more times on the 3rd, and 4th if you can find local fireworks. Stony Creek also offers a great backdrop for photography - flat lake across to a tree covered spaced where they light off the fireworks.

REQUIREMENTS: At a minimum you will need a DSLR and a sturdy tripod. It is also extremely helpful to have a wired remote release. You can get by without a remote, but it makes life easier. You can NOT get good results without a tripod.

Bob sell tripods (starting at $195 for a legs & ball head kit - depending on the weight of your equipment and your physical height). Remote releases are also available for $15.95 per remote. We can bring these items with us that evening. Please drop me a line if you would like to purchase a tripod or remote release. (Info@GetShotByBob.com)

Bob will also provide some tips on how to process your shots in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom afterward to make them really pop.

Bob's cell phone is: 248-941-4859.

Other items you may want to bring - blanket / folding chairs, bug spray. It was cold last year and most of us were not warm enough. You can always leave things in the car if you don't need them.

If YOU PREFER NO TO PAY VIA MEET-UP, you send us an email (Info@GetShotByBob.com), and we can send you an electronic invoice through Square.

Note: If you have a Metroparks pass I have been told there is no additional fee. If you do not have an annual pass, there is a $15 fee after 5pm. Please contact us with any questions. Juliann / Bob - Info@GetShotByBob.com or 248-941-4859.
