Studio Portrait Workshop (Studio lighting is NOT scary) - DiTommaso Photography

Details
Let Bob walk you through the basics of creating a portrait with artificial light.
Bob will demonstrate how to setup and shoot with studio strobes or simple off-camera flashes to make terrific indoor portraits.
We will have a volunteer model or two in the studio. If you have an aspiring model in your family contact Bob. Models receive images in exchange for their participation.
Bob will discuss how to work with a portrait subject to put them at ease and draw out the best possible results.
This is not a posing clinic, there will be some basic discussion of how to pose a subject, but the main focus of the day will be learning how to control and adjust the lights for proper exposures.
You are encouraged to bring your camera and normal to telephoto lenses and join in the fun. Your camera needs a functioning hotshoe (that little silver thing on top) if you shoot a Sony check with Bob to be sure your camera will work. They all can work, just some need an adapter.
Bob offers flashes and studio lighting for sale in the studio. You are welcome to browse and ask questions. There is never any pressure to buy anything. We got into sales at the request of participants who found it preferable to work with equipment first hand prior to making a purchase.
If you have lights but aren't getting the results you expected this would be a good opportunity to see why. If you are thinking about getting lights or flashes also a great opportunity to play first hand. Lastly, maybe you just want to come out and try your hand at photographing someone under studio lighting conditions, we get that. Everyone is welcome.
When Bob started the photography business he viewed shooting with artificial light as a necessary evil...now he LOVES to play in the studio and bring out the best in his subjects.
MeetUp has raised their credit card processing fees to the point that they are no longer competitive. We ask that you email us at:
Info@GetShotByBob.com and let us know which workshop you wish to attend. We will send you an electronic invoice that you can pay on-line and we will add you to the RSVP.
