About us
"Don't do mornings", come join us! Meet new friends to share afternoon 1-4 hour, easy to moderate with some more challenging nature walks and hikes plus other arts and entertainment activities. Don't forget to check the day of an event for any changes. Please give yourself plenty of time to find us, since we only wait an extra 10-15 minutes before starting an event to be fair to everyone. We will occasionally post a "Dog Friendly" event, which is the ONLY TIME when friendly, well behaved dogs will be welcome but they must be on a leash and under strict control of the owner. Owners should find out and respect the rules of the park, provide water, for their dog and follow requests made by the organizers.
A $30.00 yrly. donation to defray the yrly. meetup advertising fee which is going up and other costs involved in running the group would be appreciated and can be made when you attend an event. Your guests can pay a $2 donation on their second outing with us and for any additional outings. Additional donations always welcome.
If you have been a member for several months and attended numerous level hikes, or and have led hikes for other groups please let me know if you would be interested in hosting some events as an organizer. Suggestions are welcome. We have many more bridges to cross and paths to explore so come share the journey!
As with all of our events, you are responsible for your own safety and the safety of your guests. Hiking can be dangerous and injuries can occur, sometimes fatal. Trail blazes can sometimes be missing so there is always the possibility of getting off trail and possibly lost. Knowing this you agree to hike at your own risk and we cannot be held responsible for any injuries you or your guests may incur. Into the woods we go!! \

From the web.: Back by popular demand! Lon Chaney's Phantom of the Opera returns to the Lafayette, with Dr. David Kopp live at theBen Hall Wurlitzer. The theatre organ was built to do the work of a whole orchestra, one player summoning strings, brass, percussion and sound effects to score a film as it unfolds. It is a sound you feel as much as hear, moving withevery scene on screen. That is how audiences first experienced Phantom a century ago, and how you will hear it here:the music and the film alive in the same room, at the same moment. Run time is 1 hour and 33 minutes. This event is presented by the New York Theatre Organ Society who owns and maintains the Ben Hall Wurlitzer at Lafayette Theater. www.nytos.org
Tickets including handling fee for seniors are $18.45, adults are $23.60. Get your tickets on line at: https://lafayettetheatre.ticketspice.com/phantom-of-the-opera-silent-film
Handling fee is waived if you purchase tickets the day of the performance at the door. TICKETS AT THE DOOR are $15 for seniors and $20 for adults. Either way, a great price for a Brilliant, one of a kind performance and experience you will not soon forget!ONE NIGHT ONLY!
Bring treats, water, a sweater, etc. as it can get cold in the theater.
