Hey Everyone,
I'm hosting another Vertical Medicine Course with my good friend and colleague Ryan Armstrong from Cap City CPR.
Ryan is an EMT, owner of Capital City CPR and a professional emergency medicine provider. I'm a full time climbing guide and owner of Vertical Pursuits and we teamed up to create a badass medical courses geared towards recreational climbers!
This is a 16 hour, high intensity rescue clinic that covers both the medical side of treating an injured climber and the rope rescue side of pick offs, ascensions and tandem rappels, as well as managing an injured climber on the wall
What makes this different than most self rescue courses is the integration of life saving medical skills paired with the technical rope rescue skills.
This is a MUST take course for folks entering multi pitch and alpine settings and is a course that I personally look forward to being apart of to sharpen my personal medical skills!
We cover common medical emergencies and injuries found in climbing settings, and learn how to stop life threatening bleeds, prevent hypothermia, splint broken bones and stabilize injured patients. At the end of the course you're provided with valid CPR Certification, Stop the Bleed Certification and Vertical Medicine Certification.
