This group is for people who would like to experience what cross country skiing is like without a need to travel to a snow country or state! Roller skiing uses the same techniques as cross country snow skiing and is the ultimate whole body workout. Unlike running, roller skiing is very gentle on your knees, ankles, shins and joints, while delivers a superior aerobic/cardio workout. All this makes this sport an excellent workout on its own, or can be used as an awesome cross-training tool for active athletes like bicyclists, triathletes, cross fitters or anybody else who is looking to improve their stamina and endurance. Now you can get a taste of the winter sport right here in Austin. This is a second such group in TX, with the original one located in San Antonio, where it has been very popular. The goal is to spread the interest to the sport of roller skiing throughout the state of TX and show the world how fit and awesome we are. Groups are forming now! Any age! Roller skis, poles and the instructions will be provided for the introductory session for $10/30 min.
