What we're about

*[VIRTUAL UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE: Durham County Library has suspended all in-person programming until further notice to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. ]*

Love to read romance novels? On the first Thursday of every month, come read and discuss the books you love with fellow romance readers.

Every month we talk all things romance, starting with the month's theme but quickly branching out into other books we've been reading and loving, books we want to read, and what's going on in Romancelandia - you'll walk away every month with lots of recs for your TBR! Because of our wide-ranging discussions, you should always feel free to drop in even if you haven't gotten a chance to try the book club picks.

This is a program of the Durham County Library (yay libraries!), free and open to the public - Durham residence not required! Book picks are always chosen for their availability at the library, but we welcome anyone around the Triangle to come in and join us to chat.

Just in case all the books at the library and in its digital collections (Overdrive and Hoopla are two favorites!) aren't enough, we also have a "book swap" every month - a table of romances we love and want to share with others. Feel free to contribute to the pile if you're going through your collection of paperbacks, or take some home to check out a new-to-you author. You can donate without taking anything home and vice versa, no problem!

We love reading and discussing romance novels - we can't wait to meet you and share the love!

Question or comments? Feel free to message Cathy C through Meetup.

Hope to see you soon!

When Jane realizes that one of Melody’s suitors is set on taking advantage of her sister for the sake of her dowry, she pushes her skills to the limit of what her body can withstand in order to set things right—and, in the process, accidentally wanders into a love story of her own.

FOR DARKNESS SHOWS THE STARS by Diana Peterfreund (For Darkness Shows the Stars, #1)
Elliot North has always known her place in this world. Four years ago Elliot refused to run away with her childhood sweetheart, the servant Kai, choosing duty to her family's estate over love. Since then the world has changed: a new class of Post-Reductionists is jumpstarting the wheel of progress, and Elliot's estate is foundering, forcing her to rent land to the mysterious Cloud Fleet, a group of shipbuilders that includes renowned explorer Captain Malakai Wentforth--an almost unrecognizable Kai. And while Elliot wonders if this could be their second chance, Kai seems determined to show Elliot exactly what she gave up when she let him go.
