Permaculture incorporates adapting to change, and so we have changed the name of the group, London Permaculture Group to Roots in the Wilderness, to incorporate a greater range of activities for you in 2017. Permaculture incorporates maintaining deepening richness and sustainability in our environment, engaging and creating thriving communities in self-reliant regions, biodiverse agriculture, peace and abundance. Whilst we will still be wholeheartedly embracing principles of permaculture, we will be combining this with visits, workshops and retreats.

Our new launched group is still a fantastic network to connect with others, and inspire you with projects across the South East and Into an array of landscapes across the UK. We will be deepening our practice, embracing each season, and the energies they bring. Each month we will be visiting different landscapes, from moorland, riversides, mountains, forests and coastal regions - looking at different plants, foods and learning new skills on how to read and engage with our landscapes, through mindful walking, creative writing and looking at trees, weather patterns and wildlife.

Accommodation will vary on a sliding scale, each trip from camping under the stars, independent hostels and privately owned properties. Guest speakers, facilitators will assist with the retreats and workshops, with native skill sharing and reading the landscape. Connecting nature into our daily lives, is fundamental to healthy mind and body, and in our busy face paced lives this can easily be forgotten. <br>

We will do this through organising regular hikes, foraging walks, workshops, retreats and through reading our blog and website (soon to be launched) You can also follow us on Facebook @rootsinthewilderness, where we will inspire you with books, films and talks, following us on Instagram with incredible imagery @roots_in_the_wilderness and Twitter @rootsinthewild.

Look forward to meeting you in 2017.
