About us
We are the local Chapter of an international non-competitive social "running club with a drinking problem" with "kennels" all over the globe. Visit any major city and you can join the Hash House Harriers and Harriettes for some fun and exercise. Both runners and walkers join us on our "Hashes", a scavenger hunt for beer.
A hash trail blends running/walking with orienteering as the group (hounds) follow chalk/flour marks. These are either preset or marked on the fly by the lead runners (hares), while the rest of the group (hounds/the pack) follow. The pack's reward is finding beer on trail and at the end. Each trail is different. They start and end at various locations in and around Akron and last two to four hours with many members socializing after the end at a local restaurant or bar. On our website, you will find additional information and answers to most questions you may have. ([http://akronhash.com](http://akronhash.weebly.com/) )
