Ruby on Rails Meetup at Tractor Brewing - Wells Park

Greetings Everyone!

On Wednesday, October 27th we will be hosting another Rails Presentation on Ruby on Rails with Docker!
Frank Germano will be going over how to configure and run a Ruby on Rails project with a React Frontend and a PostgreSQL Database!

Docker is an open platform for developing, shipping, and running applications. Docker provides the ability to package and run an application in a loosely isolated environment called a Container.Containers are lightweight and contain everything needed to run an application, so you do not need to rely on what is currently installed on your computer.

Docker is especially useful for:

• Spinning up applications faster, especially when the overall system-level architecture is complex and when you are working in a team environment.
• Being able to work on different applications, each with it's own different system requirements on the same machine.
• Handling Deployments where systems can be slightly different on dev/qual/prod/
• Guaranteeing the same environment between developers working on the same application.
