Team Spiridon Beginners Group

Hello, RuffTail Runners!

First, two things:

1. This is NOT for a RuffTail Runners training session. Saying this should reduce the number of emails we get ask asking about this being an RTR training session, or when the next one will be, to about 20.

2. As you know, RuffTail Runners is a program put on by Team Spiridon, your friendly neighborhood non-profit running team dedicated to raising money for local animal charities and breakfast foods. So, this is not some random solicitation.

All that said, Team Spee is starting up a beginners training program, geared towards people that are either coming off the couch, or are able to run or walk a few miles, but want to push themselves to new abilities and new goals.

Some quick details:

  • This is a ten-week program that meets twice a week - Tuesday evenings at 6:30pm, and Saturday mornings, usually at 8am.
  • Cost is $100, which is crazy cheap, but we can always discuss alternative payment arrangements. We don't want money to ever be a barrier to people pursuing their health and athletic goals.
  • You'll get fully-supported runs, an online training schedule, and access to me for your questions.
  • And, you get discounts at local running stores, and one of our super-nifty tech tees.

Most importantly, you get a great, supportive atmosphere, and the ability to use your goals and achievements to raise funds to help save the lives of local companion animals.

If you're interested, go to http://teamspiridon.org/act/2013-beginners-or-beginner-ish-training/ for more info.

Thanks for all you do for the pooches, and we hope to see you running with us soon!

Will there be another one of these starting up anytime soon?

Hi, Jessica,

We are shooting for June 24, though we might have to delay it a couple of weeks - it'll be either a 10 or 8-week course to prepare people to train for the Austin Marathon or Half Marathon in February.

Shoot us an email - info @ team spiridon (dot) org (without all the spaces, of course)
