Three (four) important things!

Hi, RuffTailers,

I'll make this (somewhat) quick:

Sunday RTR:

There will be no RuffTail running this Sunday after 10am, so that we'll have dogs available and fresh to run at our training session (which is full). No dog may be taken out for more than one run. HOWEVER, silver and BOO-trained runners can still run silver and orange dogs.

Big Fun #1:

Team Spiridon is partnering with the Paramount Theatre for next Thursday's Dazed and Confused Pub Run (that had to be rescheduled from it's original date). Your ticket gets you free yumminess from Live Oak Brewery and your movie admission, all for just $15. These always turn into fun costume-fests (tube socks! Headbands!), and the run to the Rattle Inn is short enough to walk, if you like. Get your ticket now!

Big Fun #2:

Team Spiridon is also sponsoring and helping direct the Williamson Country Regional Animal Shelter's Woof Walk Wrun 5K, on April 14. The proceeds go to the shelter's medical fund for their most injured and sick animals they serve.

What we need are runners. This has always been a small race, with about 150-200 runners, and we're looking to double that this year. We're also working to expand RTR to that shelter, so the run is dog-friendly, and there'll be prizes for the top dog-human teams!

So, please come out and support the run, the shelter and their no-kill mission, and represent for RuffTail and Team Spiridon! Use the code "RuffTail2013" when you register to get a couple of bucks off.

Big Fun #3:

There's several important things about this one - Team Spiridon is also helping out again at the St. James Baptist Church's Missions 5K Run. First, it's one of the few (if not the only) race run on the East side of I35, in the midst of a food desert, and a community that is way under-represented in the Austin running scene. Second, it has about the best energy you will find at any race, because it's not generated by sheer size and bands and fireworks, but by hospitality and good-old people-generated enthusiasm. Finally, it is also dog-friendly. Last year, three Spiridoners took APA dogs to the race, and a couple of those won age-group awards. If you're interested in taking an APA dog, let us know.

OK, thanks for reading, thanks for all the hard work and love you put into RuffTail, and thanks for coming out to these events!
