We're proud to announce this month's monthly meeting speaker Teddy Dief, who will be holding a talk: "Hyper Light Drifter Deep Dive: A Menu Without Words."

Who is Teddy Dief?

I'm a game + narrative designer, writer, producer + musician living in Montréal, developing something new and secret as Creative Director at Square Enix Montréal. I also made (and still support) Hyper Light Drifter and Kyoto Wild. I am a co-founder of LA game collective Glitch City and my former game studio Rad Dragon.

I talk about game design, storytelling, and creative life on the internet. But mostly, I make games, and believe in the growth and maturation of games as an art form and platform for expression and shared experience.

Before going indie, I designed for Microsoft Studios and Disney Online Studios, specializing in narrative and systems design. I've also been intensely academic, getting my Masters in Interactive Media from the University of Southern California, and a Bachelors in Music & Computer Science from Columbia University.

As always, these talks will be free and open to the public! We will be live-streaming the talk, as Teddy will be joining us from Montreal via the powers of the Internet. We will be taking questions from Twitter during the event.
