"Rust loves WebAssembly and WASI!" - Jakub Konka

Targeting WebAssembly and WASI in Rust is super easy, thanks to the efforts of the Bytecode Alliance. But what the heck is WASI? This talk will take a closer look at what WASI actually is, demonstrate how you can write WASI apps in Rust, invoke WASI from Rust (interface types!), and if the time permits, maybe even go down the rabbit hole of Rust’s libstd where there be dragons!

Jakub is a big believer in open source software and a big supporter of WebAssembly and WASI. He is currently working as an R&D researcher for Golem Factory exploring anything and everything WebAssembly and WASI related. Since May 2019, he has also been actively involved in developing and maintaining Wasmtime runtime and wasi-common library, the goto implementation of the WASI spec, at the Bytecode Alliance. He is also crazily in love with the Rust lang.

Budowanie na platformę WebAssembly i WASI w Ruście jest banalne, dzięki pracy włożonej przez grupę Bytecode Alliance. Ale czym właściwie jest WASI? Ta prezentacja przybliży nam czym to jest, zademonstruje jak można pisać aplikacje WASI w Ruście, wołać WASI z Rusta (typy inferfejsowe!), a jeśli czas pozwoli, to zagłębić się w technikalia biblioteki standardowej Rusta, gdzie potwory straszą!

Jakub jest wyznawcą otwartego oprogramowania oraz zwolennikiem WebAssembly i WASI. Obecnie pracuje jako R&D researcher dla Golem Factory, gdzie odkrywa wszystko co się da, co związane jest z WebAssembly i WASI. Od maja 2019 r. jest także zaangażowany w tworzenie i utrzymywanie środowiska Wasmtime oraz biblioteki wasi-common, która jest de facto standardową implementacją WASI przez grupę Bytecode Alliance. Jest także ślepo zakochany w Ruście.
